A busybody is someone who meddles in, or pries into, other people's business.[1] Being a busybody is a liberal trait, since a major distinction between liberals and conservatives is that liberals believe in controlling one another's affairs.

The activity seen on Facebook and YouTube is a strong example of busybodies in action. Being a busybody is condemned in the First Epistle of Peter - I Peter 4:15.

C.S. Lewis wrote:

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber baron]]s than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
