Wool is one of the best materials for clothing. It has excellent insulating properties even when it is wet, it's durable, fire-retardant, and 100% natural. Wool is rather expensive compared to other fabric and some individuals are allergic to it.

Clothing

Wool is used primarily as a textile for clothing due to its many desirable qualities, such as being an excellent insulator. It is warm even when wet, unlike many other fabrics. On the downside it may be itchy when in contact with the skin unless merino wool is used. Also extreme care must be used when laundering or shrinkage is the result. Wash in cold water and hang dry.
